READY FOR TEMPLECON

I finally sat down and finished painting my Long Gunners and Trenchers.

While I was at it I got my second Lancer finished as well.

That leaves me with Thorn, a Grenadier, and Ol' Rowdy to paint before Wednesday.

Hey ... I better get back to painting.

FINISHED: CYGNAR BOKUR BODYGUARD

I finally finished up my Merc Bokur that I field with my Cygnar army. I gave him a shield from a Lancer, and painted his armor plating with blue colors. (Cygnar Blue Base, Cygnar Blue Highlight, and I-Kore Coraline Blue.) He's all fired up for TempleCon and looking to team up with his buddy Maxwell Finn.

ON THE TABLE: STORMLANCES!

If nothing else, I will have my Stormlances painted for TempleCon! I waited forever to get these guys. They were on order from Privateer Press for like 3 months before I got them. I am painting them with a "different" paint scheme, using blue, gold, silver, and bronze. For the bases, I am going for an urban ruins look much like some of the artwork in Legends. I am using some sculpted plastic bases, and Slate Rock for the rubble.

My only complaint is that the lances are tiny and will obvious break in the future. Especially the back part of the lance. That part was bent on each one of my knights when I got the models out of the box.

I've got a really had habit of working on terrain pieces rather than painting my minatures. It's a curse really. I just enjoy building and painting terrain. So anyway, today I started looking around at what needs assembling and painting. I realized it was time to get crackin' and start focusing on my models!

Partially Painted:

• Hammersmith
• Lancer
• Thunderhead
• Freebooter

Base Coated:

• Two Stormlance models
• Krueger the Stormwrath

So I guess I'd better get back to working on my models!

ON THE TABLE

Six Warjacks glare at me from the painting table. Buddy Christ winks and gives me the thumbs up. I pick up my brush, and start to work again. No rest for the wicked.
The Mule is a great model and will play a very important role in my Epic Caine list. I decided that I needed to add a couple of bitz to the model. I added some large hooks on the shoulders, but removed the boxes of ammo from the back of the lobber. I added a small round pipe cap to the back of the lobber gun from an Imex kit. Maybe you hate it, but that's okay. Youll hate it anyway when I'm toasting your ass from way across the board in Legacies.

The Freebooter fluff says that during storms and rough waters seamen lash themselves to the Freebooters in order to not be flung overboard. I decided that my Freebooter was going to have a bunch of chains hanging from the lashing points to reflect that fluff.

That's right! It's Hammertime.

I got this 'jack on Ebay last year and its been sitting all lonely and sad in the box since then. But no more! He's assembled, and ready to paint!
I'm not sure whether these "street lights" are projects for Journeyman warcasters trying to pass their final exams, or if the light within is something cooked up by a mad alchemist who was bored, but it's a neat piece of small terrain for an urban setting. I figure it's the street version of the lights from page 64 of the IK World Guide.

ON THE TABLE

With a jug of Decaf Orange Tea, Iced Tea caps, a package of cotton rounds, P3 paints, and a bunch of paint brushes ... I again attack the Thunderhead. Slowly but surely, the big guy is coming along.


And since I had so much fun dropping Lightning on John's Mercs today, I decided that the 'Smith Brothers needed some more painting.

HAMMERSMITH & RENEGADE

I've been threatening to assemble my second Renegade ever since the Teams match that I played with Gary as my partner. Well, no more threats. That bad boy is assembled and ready to rock. Magnus will be pleased ... I posed this one oddly just for the fun of it.

I also started to asembled my Hammersmith, because I'm looking to lay down the beat down! I pulled out a chuck of "terrain bits" from my bitz box and slapped that on the base for decoration. What is it? It's a manhole cover from a Fisher Price toy.

Well, back to work!

ON THE TABLE

Since I became a Pressganger last year I have been focusing a lot of energy, effort, and time on studying rules, investigating formats, and attempting to locate (and afford) unique prizes to help make events fun, interesting, and worthwhile for players. I wrote letters to hobby shops all over PA, Ohio, and New York attempting to let even more players know about what we're doing over here in DuBois. I have visited hobby shops all over this part of PA and dedicated myself to my Pressganger PA Hobby Shop Tour. I have smashed my head against the wall time and time again trying to negotiate with our local game store owner. I have run all over town looking for possible locations for events. So basically what I'm saying is ... I need a short break.

No, not a break from Pressganging. Not a break from the hobby. Just a break from using all my hobby time trying to basically make other people happy and focus on what makes me happy ... and brings me joy.

I've left my poor wee metal soldiers sit unpainted, unassembled, and sometimes unrelieved from their boxes and blister packs. I hear their screams at night, begging for me to free them and play with them. No more, I say! I must press forward. Time to belly up to The Table and start doing some work!

With Legends coming, and Gatehouse Games enforcing a strict policy of "fully assembled, painted, and based" ... I gots to get crackin' on getting my 3 750 point lists ready.

So me and Buddy Christ will be painting, and I'll will log what I get done here for my fellow hobbyists and gamers!
