Kraye is a Warjack caster as most of his spells enhance his Battlegroup. Remember that Kraye gives Cav rules to his Warjacks, so you'll need to read over and understand how Heavy Cav and Light Cav function within the game.

COOL CYGNAR ARMY
A friend of mine posted his completed Cygnar Army on the Privateer Press forums recently.

CAINE VS. KRAYE
Megan and I played a game of WARMACHINE on my birthday.
She used Caine, and I took Kraye.
Megan's army (see below) had Caine with a Hunter, Gun Mages with Gun Mage Captain, Defender run by the Gun Mage Captain, Dirty Meg with a Mule, The Black 13th, and a Journeyman with a Hunter.
In the picture below, my Trenchers are being wiped out by the Black 13th. The poor Trenchers never made it beyond the bridge. I was amazed at how effective the Black 13th are with their teenie tiny Magelock pistols against troops. And yeah, she's standing in my smoke shooting the crap out of my guys.
My army, mostly seen below, was Kraye, a Hunter, The Thunderhead, a Charger, an Ironclad, a Trencher Gun Crew, Mechanics, Trenchers, and Ayiana & Holt.
The Gun Crew kept Megan from moving her Gun Mages and the Black 13th to the center of the table.
I had pulled off an assassination run with Kraye, Aiyana and Holt, and my Hunter. Despite good intentions, I wasn't able to get a solid hit on Caine to kill him.
The next turn, my assassination run left me open for a counter-assassination run. A solid hit from the Defender, and several well placed shots from Caine managed to inflict enough damage to take out Kraye.

FINISHED: THUNDERHEAD!
Finally, the Thunderhead is painted and based. I added a twist of barbed wire for something different. Now I just have to start using this guy more often!
I painted the entire model with GW TIN BITZ, and highlighted it with I-Kore Lucifer Bronze. I then brassed out the coils with P3 Molten Bronze. I used P3 Cygnar Meredius Blue for the blue on the coils. The gray parts of the arms/shoulders is Ironhull Grey, and the blue parts are Cygnar Blue Base. The silvery parts are drybrushed with Reaper Miniatures Pro-Paint Pewter. Lastly, the cygnus is P3 Cygnar Yellow painted over by P3 Blighted Gold.

If The Black 13th has Snipe placed on them it will not affect "Fire Beacon" as it is a ranged attack not a ranged weapon.

Here are the primary things to always keep in mind.

#1 Haley is squishy there are plenty of ways to one-shot her. Keep her protected like the King on a chess board.
#2 The cavalry is an awesome moving wall.
#3 Do not get flanked on 2 sides. If you advance middle and a cryx player tries to run both sides, do a dance line straight to the edge of the board and block a flank.

SUPPRESSING FIRE
Q: When you use Suppressive Fire, do you place the template and determine who can participate (thus changing the size of the template), or do you declare the size of the template and then place it legally based on who is participating?
A: Declare the size of the template, then place it legally.

Q: When a jack with a shield ends it's activation completely in a Suppressing Fire template, from where does the damage originate?
A: Damage from Suppressing Fire does not come from any arc, so effects that modify ARM against damage dealt to a particular arc do not apply.

DID YOU KNOW?
BLACK 13: LYNCH'S FIRE BEACON
It's a RNG 12 AOE 5 attack. You target a model. If you hit, center a 5" AOE on the model. If you miss, it deviates as any other AOE attack, and you center a 5" AOE on where ever the attack deviates to. Either way, the AOE stays in play for 1 round, and while within the AOE models do not benefit from the listed abilities.

KATHERINE + EXPLOSIVO
here's something fun to try ... Siege casts Explosivo on Katherine. When she makes her ranged attack the three inch AOE and her electro leaps become all one attack. The damage from both the regular ranged attack, the AOE, and the lightning bounces is all simultaneous.
Try it out, and let me know if you like how it works.

Right, Wrong ... He's the one with the spellstorm pistols! Lieutenant Allister Caine is a dual pistol wielding blue of death. Used correctly, he is an effective warcaster in the battlefield. Read more about him here.

This is a solid list but is very much a Run & Gun mobile list. Avoid AOEs and stay on the go. Don't get bogged down. The only exception to this is the Long Gunners. Make them stand still once you get them into a central location and have them shoot the snot out of anything that gets annoying. Use Caine to support the Long Gunners. The Hunter is run by Junior. Pop off shots at 'Jacks and Cav and use focus to boost to hit and damage. Junior puts Arcane Shield on Caine. Caine can put Blur on the Long Gunners, Junior, or himself. The Stormsmiths and GMCA can run around on the flanks, be annoying, and kill solos, unit leaders, ... and warcasters.

YAY LEGENDS, YOU SAVED MY GUNMAGES!
Gunmages were some of the first models I bought when I got into WARMACHINE. I actually bought two of them because I got the Gunmage Captian Adept too. Since I liked Caine so much, it seemed like a good choice at the time. And then as more releases came out, it became more and more obvious that they weren't as effective as they were during Prime. I had all but given up on them and was considering selling them on Ebay.
But wait! Legends has some awesome stuff coming out for Gunmages. So Legends saved my Gunmages. Whooooo ho! Yay!
