TempleCon 2009 kicked off with Eternal War Open Gaming and the Guts & Gears tourney.
Hugh was running the event, and I was helping to make rules calls and acted as a Ringer for odd people out. We needed 19 tables to accomidate the players for the tourney, so that was cool. We ended up playing 5 rounds to come up with a top three list of winners. During the first round, Dan (Biggie) wandered over with a box and that's when I got to check out the cool new Trophies. They are surprisingly heavy, and very nice.
We had a lot of people sign up for Eternal War. Throughout the convention 24/7 you can seek out another player who is wearing a Eternal War button. If you win a game of Eternal War, you earn a ticket. The ticket is placed in a box, and if your name is drawn out of the box you get to play Dan (Biggie) at the Quartermaster Challenege table. The person who scores the best win overall against Biggie will be getting a very cool prize. (Yes, I've seen it but no I can't tell you what it is. You'll have to wait!)
