ETERNAL WAR AT TEMPLECON

Eternal War is pretty cool, and unique to TempleCon. In short, it's a semi-casual play format that runs all weekend on a set of themed terrain. It allows players to grab games of Warmachine and Hordes with other players on demand, and further their conquests all weekend to rack up wins and special objectives. There's a bit more to it than that which is described in the early posted miniatures schedule which is going up soon, but suffice it to say that it's a lot of fun for those who are learning the game, or just don't feel like scheduling their weekend around the big tournaments. Heck, who doesn't want to play semi-casual games and have a chance to win cool prizes?

Eternal War
Friday, Feb. 6 through Sunday, Feb. 8. Register any time during the convention starting as early as 10am on Friday. This open play event runs continually (24 hours a day) throughout the entire convention until 4pm on Sunday afternoon. Yes, that’s 54 hours of gaming if you can do it!
Eternal War is an “open play” mixed event that turns your friendly games on the Eternal War tables during TempleCon into credit towards qualifying for the Championships on Sunday (top WM player and HORDES player).
We hope that this provides an enjoyable alternative for players that would like to compete for the big trophies, but do not want to be in tournaments all weekend. Additionally, there will be a separate prize pool for Eternal War players this year for those that do not participate in the events on Sunday - so be sure that you are playing Eternal War until the bitter end! More details on the format will be coming soon, but the short of it is to bring three lists - one each for 500pts, 750pts, and 1,000pts (you don’t have to have all points sizes if you don’t want to, but you may be limiting the number of players you can play against) and be ready to meet new players with pickup games. As you play other eternal war players you'll record your results rather like a league.

If you register to participate in Eternal War, you'll get a nifty 3" button that will identify you are a person who is looking to play pick up games with other Eternal War players.
