TEMPLECON EVENTS

Friday, February 6
Guts and Gears Kickoff - 11am registration, Noon start - We start off TempleCon with a bang on Friday morning. Bring a 500pt army for WARMACHINE or HORDES (mixed event) that must include one warlock/warcaster, no more than one solo, no more than one unit, no more than one unit attachment, and as many warjacks/warbeasts as you like. The top WARMACHINE player and top HORDES player from this event will be qualified for the Championships on Sunday. There will be other prizes specific to this tournament as well. Limit of 64 players so pre-register on the TempleCon web site.
Eternal War – Friday, Feb. 6 through Sunday, Feb. 8. Register any time during the convention starting as early as 10am on Friday. This open play event runs continually (24 hours a day) throughout the entire convention until 4pm on Sunday afternoon. Yes, that’s 54 hours of gaming if you can do it! Eternal War is an “open play” mixed event that turns your friendly games on the Eternal War tables during TempleCon into credit towards qualifying for the Championships on Sunday (top WM player and HORDES player). We hope that this provides an enjoyable alternative for players that would like to compete for the big trophies, but do not want to be in tournaments all weekend. Additionally, there will be a separate prize pool for Eternal War players this year for those that do not participate in the events on Sunday - so be sure that you are playing Eternal War until the bitter end! More details on the format will be coming soon, but the short of it is to bring three lists - one each for 500pts, 750pts, and 1,000pts (you don’t have to have all points sizes if you don’t want to, but you may be limiting the number of players you can play against) and be ready to meet new players with pickup games. As you play other eternal war players you'll record your results rather like a league. Who knows, you might even get a chance to play a game against one of the staffers from Privateer Press….
Midnight Madness – Friday, Feb. 6 into Sat. Feb. 7. Registration starts at 10pm on Friday, first game at 11pm. You loved the insanity last year so come ready to throw down all night again this year. This is a mixed WARMACHINE and HORDES event using 750pt armies. Bring 2 lists for a tournament using Steamroller 4 scenarios and special rules, but be ready to win some fun extra prizes over the evening too. The top WARMACHINE player and the top HORDES player from this event will be qualified for the Championship on Sunday. There will be special prizes awarded each round of the tournament to the first WARMACHINE and HORDES player to complete the announced achievement - but beware some of these achievements may greatly reduce your chances of winning the match! Limit of 64 players so pre-register on the TempleCon web site.

Saturday, February 7
HARDCORE – Registration starts at 9am, first game starts at 10am. What more can we say? This is HARDCORE! Bring a single 750pt army of your favorite faction (it’s mixed HORDES and WARMACHINE this year so you wilder types aren’t left out) and come play some straight up kill the warcaster/warlock. All models must be fully painted to participate in this event and turns will be timed at 7 minutes per player. In addition to medals for fastest kill, most victory points killed, best painted, and best overall; the top WARMACHINE player and top HORDES player from this event will be qualified for the Championship on Sunday. Limit of 64 players so pre-register on the TempleCon web site.
Monsterpocalypse: Trashing Rhode Island – Registration 10am, first game at 11am. We’re bringing the big monsters to the biggest gaming event in the northeast. This is your chance to battle it out for cool prizes and bragging rights of winning the first TempleCon Monsterpocalypse event. This is a constructed tournament using swiss pairing. Bring a single monster (in both alpha and hyper forms), up to 15 units, up to 12 buildings, a play mat/map, dice set, and life tracker to compete. There is a limit of 16 players in this event so be sure to pre-register on the TempleCon web site.
‘Jacks and ‘Beasts Never Rest – Saturday, Feb. 7 into Sunday, Feb. 8. Registration starts at 11pm, first game starts at midnight. Just in case you haven’t had enough gaming, we’ve got something a little lighter for you to pass the night away. Bring a single list (WARMACHINE or HORDES but all models from the same faction as normal) to this mixed event totaling 750points. Here’s the catch, your list must have 2 warlocks/warcasters in it and nothing but warjacks or warbeasts. This will be a night of straight-up kill the other guy in a Mangled Metal format (kill both warcasters/locks or all warjacks/beasts and you win). Please note that warcasters must be assigned at least one warjack to control. We'll have some cool prizes to give away for those who can go without sleep. Limit of 64 players so pre-register on the TempleCon web site.
Sunday, February 8
The Championships – Registration starts at 9am, first game starts at 10am. This is the big one. The top 4 HORDES players and top 4 WARMACHINE players selected from the previous events of the weekend will battle it out in a modified 500pt Steamroller 4 format (we’ll use chess clocks to time things) mixed tournament to see who is the top dog. Can you add your name to the roll call of champions already inscribed on the TempleCon trophy?
Eternal War Prizes - You didn't forget about Eternal War, did you? At 4pm Sunday afternoon we will collect all remaining Eternal War record sheets (you can turn them in early if you want, but where's the fun in that) to calculate winners. At 5pm during the awarding of the overall HORDES and WARMACHINE champions from the Championships, we'll award special Eternal War prizes to top players.
So, there you have it. Looking at the schedule, if you take out Eternal War we've left you 6 hours total during the course of the convention during which there isn't at least one organized play event going on. I'm sure you can find a pickup game or three to fill those spaces. Also, don't forget that we have lots of resources for casual players including open "generic" tables with standard terrain set up as well as special tables with elaborate set piece terrain and specific fun scenarios to play.
