If you make your own terrrain, you have probably run into the situation where you need to make some steps. I have a rough time making my own steps, and so I have fallen back on the simple tactic of using Jenga blocks for step making. These are uniform size, and don't cost that much. I can generally find a set of Jenga blocks for .99 every time I walk into a Goodwill store.
It's simply and easy to lay these out in order to create a staircase for your terrain. Quick, and to the point.
