SCOUTING FOR CHARITY EVENTS

I have been scouting around for some charities who are willing to let me run some events to benefit them. By getting charities to align with me as a Press Ganger, I get to host more events, get exposure to the public, and generally help the community. I believe it is important to help the community. I definately want to focus on running some charity events with WARMACHINE and HORDES in Dubois, PA and the surrounding areas.

I contacted the Food Pantry on S. Jared Street about the coming FOODMACHINE tournament in December.

I contacted the Salvation Army and left a message with their Community Relations person. I'm not sure what event I could run to benefit them but it's an option for 2008.

I contacted the American Red Cross. They seem interested. I'd like to run a Guts & Gears event to benefit them. I'll be talking with them next week.

I contacted the local Cancer Society about running a "Play to Save a Pair" charity event for Breast Cancer Awareness. The event is going to happen in 2008.

My best lead so far is the Clearfield County SPCA. They want me to come out next Monday to show them the game and set up an event. They seem really excitied. The event will either be a door price that is a donation to the SPCA, or we might run a wacky offshoot of the FOODMACHINE tournament where everyone brings canned DOG and CAT food for the SPCA.
