PRESS GANGER ABOUT TOWN

I made my rounds throughout DuBois and asked several locations to please display fliers advertising the FOODMACHINE event on December 30, 2007. I knew that none of the locations would post the fliers on the outside of the store, so I went with the next best thing which was to have them post it on their "community bulletin board" or in their break room.

The only locations that completely refused to display the fliers were Fox's Pizza, Eat-N-Park, Burger King, and Lowes. All three were kind of rude about it, but I understood. No big deal.

The most cooperative were Sheetz (all of them), Perkins, and Wendy's. The employees at Perkins actually came out to ask questions and seemed excited about the game.

I also posted fliers in the break rooms of McDonalds, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, The Dollar Store, and Dominos Pizza.

I went to Rosie's to see what the prices would be to run a small event at their place. The owner was not there, and I left my information for the future. It's not a big area but they do provide 3 large tables that would allow us to fit some people into the coffee house book store. It's an idea. For now, I'm not ruling anything out.

I stopped by Q102 and talked with the folks there about advertising the event. They were very cooperative and offered to bring Channel 6 News on board as well.

I emailed alost every newspaper, radio, and tv station in the area with media releases about the event.

Barb Holt at Penn State DuBois Campus was very cooperative about allowing me to make listserve notices on their email lists about our events. I hope to get some kind of presence on the campus to get some students involved in local tournaments.

GoDoubis.com was kind enough to list our event on their website.

I also contacted several online gaming forums about the FOODMACHINE event. For a quick reference just go to Google and search FOODMACHINE + DuBois, PA

I have had several emails about the event. Some from people giving kudos for the idea, and still others from people from outside the area who are planning to visit for the Holidays. I got one email from a gentleman in Germany who was an exchange student in this area at one time. He was excited to see we were involved in FOODMACHINE.
