HORDES COIN CHALLENGE TOURNAMENT
A charity event to benefit the Clearfield County SPCA
Privateer Press and the Press Gang would like to announce that they are hosting their second charity event in the DuBois Area. In December, we collected 272 food items for donation to the Salvation Army during our Thrall Harvest event. Nationwide, the Press Gang collected over 18,000 cans for donation to charities. Now we are collecting donations for the Clearfield County SPCA. We really think that the SPCA does a great service and is really unappreciated. Get involved and help us help the CCSPCA!
GO WILD! is a 500 point fantasy miniatures wargame tournament using the HORDES game created by Privateer Press in 2006. HORDES is a fast-paced and aggressive 30mm tabletop miniatures game featuring fantastic creatures and mythical beasts. Players bring their assembled (and sometimes painted) metal miniature armies to compete in a series of 3-4 60 minute games. Using a Swiss-Style format, the players score wins, losses, and ties during the games. At the end, a winner is decided to be the grand champion of the event. Although the game is aggressive and challenging, above all else we promote good sportsmanship and good, clean fun.
The HORDES game promotes several aspects of hobbies and crafts. The metal miniatures must be assembled, and can be painted using acrylic paints. The miniatures are mounted on small plastic based which can be decorated like tiny dioramas. Players also learn how to create scenery for the games by making hills, forests, lakes, and rivers to decorate the board where they play the game. And for those people interested in steam-era trains and technology, HORDES is set in a fictional world called the Iron Kingdoms that allows for a melding of steam railroads and steampunk robots. HORDES has something for everyone to enjoy, regardless of age.
Fans of Privateer Press games are encouraged to come on out and have some fun playing a few games of HORDES for a good cause! Bring your dice and have some fun.
The general public is invited to stop in, make donations, check out the event, and see what Privateer Press is all about. We’re a bunch of gamers who love the hobby and want to try to give back to the community while having some fun!
We are collecting the following items: CAT/DOG TOYS, GARDEN HOSES, GARDEN HOSE NOZZLES, TOLIET PAPER, PAPER TOWELS, SHEETZ GAS CARDS, CLEAN TOWELS AND BLANKETS, BOTTLES OF BLEACH, PAPER PLATES AND CUPS, RUGS, AND NEWSPAPERS FOR BEDDING.
The Clarion Hotel has been very helpful in arranging for us to hold this event in their conference room. Please help us show our appreciation by buying lunch or dinner at their restaurant to help cover the cost of the event.
